As a Christian counselor, I believe our relationship with Jesus Christ, as well as faith and biblical principles, serve as the foundation of the therapeutic alliance. Whether you are suffering from depression, anxiety, trauma, or a clinical disorder, I provide a safe space in which you can identify and work through your presenting problems by using God’s Word and the power of prayer coupled with evidence-based practice as guidance. I am part of a multicultural family, and I work well with adults from various multicultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Please note I work exclusively with adults age 18 and older. I look forward to serving you as you see God move and transform your life!
Bothell – Tue and Sun
Mill Creek – Wed and Sat
I create a safe space in which you can feel compassion, love, and validation. Using my professional experience and therapeutic assessment, I will develop a treatment plan catered to your needs that is based on biblical principles. As your therapist, I will become part of your support system so that you do not have to face your struggles alone. Our faith in Christ becomes the foundation of the therapeutic alliance, and a cord of three strands is not easily broken. We will work together to find practical interventions based on godly wisdom that fit within your current lifestyle.
My Goal as a Christian Counselor
As your Christian Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, I provide a safe, empathic environment in which to identify root problems and biblical solutions. God has a wonderful plan for your life! Together, we will work through the little foxes that spoil the vine, as well as the issues that arise when life delivers devastating blows. I believe that helping individuals, couples, and families in a therapeutic capacity is achieved through integrating biblical principles and clinical skills.
What I Offer in Christian Counseling
When I first meet with you, I will assess for the presenting problem, as well as collaborate with you to develop a treatment plan. This ensures that counseling sessions stay on track and serve your needs. I will then establish current support systems in your life (family, church, friends, etc.), and help you formulate a feasible, step-by-step plan to achieve your goals and the growth and healing you desire.
My Approach to Christian Counseling
The benefit of a Christian approach to counseling, as opposed to a secular one, is that spiritual issues that are the root of the problem can be identified, whereas in secular counseling only the symptoms can be identified. In Christian counseling, faith and biblical principles are not only transparent, but also serve as the foundation of the therapeutic alliance.
Qualifications & Experience
I am an LMHCA and MHP with more than five years of clinical mental health experience. I hold a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and an AA in Business Administration.
My Call to Christian Counseling
Many years ago, I was in the funeral and cemetery industry.I dealt with people who were in the throes of profound grief and loss—people who had suffered through loved ones’ illnesses, tragedies, and accidents. I discovered that I had deep compassion for these individuals, and that I was good at helping them. From there I expanded my skill set and currently have experience working with individuals, couples, and families dealing with a wide scope of circumstances and challenges.
More About Me/On a Personal Note
I am from Austin, Texas. I have two grown children and four grandchildren. I came to the Pacific Northwest to go to grad school and because I love the climate in this region. Although I went back to Texas after grad school, I returned to Seattle in 2015 to take a job at a community mental health clinic before joining Seattle Christian Counseling. I live with my dachshund, Marley, and my tortie, Aslan. I enjoy writing, editing, reading, movies, knitting, and crocheting.
