Brian Rogers, MA, LMHCA
Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate
(360) 447-8367 | brianr@seattlechristiancounseling.com
I offer an emotionally safe and secure environment where you can feel comfortable being vulnerable and free to share whatever concerns are weighing you down. Together we will seek to discover the root cause of your distress and bring lasting restoration. As your counselor, it is my desire to be able to give “a word fitly spoken” (Proverbs 25:11), and to speak words that are right on target with what you need to hear. As we partner with Christ, you will become more aware of your abilities to overcome the adversities you face.
Lacey – Sun, Mon & Thu
Puyallup – Tue, Wed & Fri
I offer professional counseling for children, teens, adult individuals, couples, families, and groups. Whether you’re looking for treatment for trauma and PTSD, depression, anxiety, anger management, grief, relationship problems, abandonment issues, or other concerns, I would be honored to walk with you. God did not design us to navigate storms alone. We are meant to bear one another’s burdens, and I am here to help you carry yours to the Lord. With His help through Christian counseling, you can experience the healing, peace, restoration, and freedom that Christ deeply desires for your life.
My Goal as a Christian Counselor
One of my goals as your counselor is to help you draw out your values and beliefs as an individual uniquely created by God so you can better understand who you are and how that contributes to your God-given purpose and His will for your life. My desire is for you to walk daily with the authority God has given you to live a life of joy and peace. It is my hope that every client finishes therapy feeling enriched and full of hope.
What I Offer in Christian Counseling
I seek to offer a genuine, heartfelt experience in which you can feel and know you are in a safe, accepting place. In our initial session together, we will take time to become familiar with each other, gain clarity on your reasons for pursuing counseling, and set at least one primary goal for treatment. As therapy continues, we will regularly assess what is and is not working, and try various approaches to ensure healing is taking place.
My Approach to Christian Counseling
I believe that Christ is the Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. As a Christian counselor, I see myself as providing therapy in partnership with Christ. I love to pray, and would love to include prayer and Scripture into our sessions according to each client’s desires. I will never force or disrespect anyone who would prefer to leave prayer and Scripture out of our sessions. I will come alongside you, and allow you to be in a space that best fits your current needs.
Qualifications & Experience
I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Leadership and a Master of Arts degree in Counseling and Care from Faith International University.
My Call to Christian Counseling
As I look back on my life, the call God gave me to be a counselor has always been present. I have always been someone people have seen as supportive, non-judgmental, easy to talk to, and trustworthy. After medically retiring in 2017 from my twelve-and-a-half-year career in the United States Army, I began my formal training to become a mental health counselor as a means of serving and supporting others.
More About Me/On a Personal Note
I love the outdoors, especially the deep wilderness. I love hiking, kayaking, and camping. Taking long motorcycle rides through the twists and turns of less traveled roads is definitely a favorite. I also enjoy watching movies with my family after a hard day at work. Before becoming a counselor I was in the Army for over twelve years, serving all over the country and the world, including two combat tours in Iraq. As a veteran, I have experience battling and overcoming combat PTSD, and all of the secondary and subsequent effects.

Premarital Counseling
Congratulations! What a time to celebrate! It is my desire to work with you to ensure that the celebration never stops. My focus with premarital counseling is to work together to go over all of the fun topics, and some topics that are better to have now, rather than later. There are many themes we can discuss, and we will do our best to address issues that suit your needs. In doing so, in a continuance of the celebration, we will cover areas that will ensure the two of you are well equipped to maintain a marriage that will flourish “until death do us part.”
Couples Counseling
I understand that life can throw many challenges our way, and the fact that you are reaching out to seek peace is a great first step. Some good aspects about your situation are that you are not alone, and your situation is not new. Many people have walked the same road. The best part is that there are proven testimonies that there is victory on the other side. Through Christian couples counseling, my goal is for you to be able to maintain hope, trust God, and know restoration is possible.
Individual Counseling
“And one standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back; three is even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken” (Ecclesiastes 4:12). I am here to fight alongside you. I am here to encourage you and to be with you as we push past whatever it is that holds you down. We will be able to lift ourselves up and out of the pit you may see yourself in; it is only temporary. Through individual counseling and with God’s help, you should and can have lasting change.
Trauma (Including Combat)
As a combat survivor, I have experienced the darkest parts of humanity. It is not easy. Many times when it does seem easy, it’s because the trauma is so far deep within you that it is covered up by what appears to be a different primary concern. It is my purpose to dig past the obvious and move into the heart of the issue, whether it be “big” or “small.” Your past experiences do not define you. Who you truly are and who you were made to be defines you. Let’s work together to find who you really are in Christ.
Spiritual Development
If you are seeking to build your spiritual maturity and to grow to know God more, I would be honored to work with you. Learning and maintaining spiritual habits are essential to having a strong, intimate relationship with God. With that said, many times there is personal discovery or healing that needs to take place. Through Christian counseling for spiritual development, prayer, and reflection, God is faithful to bring clarity and healing according to His will.
