As your counselor, I will listen to you and your story without judgment. I will work alongside you with your best interests in mind. In our sessions together, I will follow your lead and be sensitive to your limitations. With a gentle balance, I will graciously nudge you when appropriate and give you space to process as necessary. I specialize in counseling for teens and adults, working through a wide variety of issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, abandonment, relationship issues, and much more. I look forward to hearing your story and watching the Lord work in your life.

Sometimes life gets the best of us. Sometimes we feel like God is far, far away or that He has forgotten about us. Perhaps you feel so overwhelmed with your responsibilities that you can do nothing but sink into the pit of despair and loneliness and can’t see a way out. At times in those pits we need somebody to reach down and offer us a hand to be pulled to safety; other times we just need somebody to come down into the pit and sit with us so we’re not alone. I want to be that for you. I want you to know that life afresh can be achieved, that healing and restoration are available, and that it is possible to climb out of the pit with the help of Jesus. Let’s start that journey together.
My Goal as a Christian Counselor
My goal as your counselor is to provide you with the support you need and help you achieve your goals for healing and restoration. I hope that after working with me you will see an improvement in your quality of life, and an increase in your joy and freedom. I hope to help you create your own methods of dealing more effectively with the life you live and that you can become more successful at handling the challenges you will face in the future.
What I Offer in Christian Counseling
I approach counseling from a story perspective. We all have stories, both the ones we’re telling now, and the ones we told long ago which inform and often dictate the ones we’re telling now. There is also the future story, which is yet to be written. My desire is to help you better understand your stories and through that understanding, write a better story for your future, with God’s help.
My Approach to Christian Counseling
If we truly believe that Jesus is the center of our lives and that without Him, we can do nothing, then Jesus must be a part of the counseling process—otherwise we’re doomed to failure. I believe that the integration of our spirituality and our relationship with Christ combined with the knowledge of counseling theory and practice is the best and most complete treatment plan possible. We are ourselves no matter where we go, and to be the best version of ourselves, we need to be the most complete version of ourselves—and that means involving Jesus in everything.
Qualifications & Experience
I earned my Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Northwest University in Kirkland, WA and my Bachelor’s degree with a dual major in Bible & Theology and Social Science from Puget Sound Christian College. I have been counseling professionally since 2013.
My Call to Christian Counseling
One of the biggest influences on my career choice was my youth pastor growing up. He spoke into my life and encouraged me to pursue a career as a counselor. He also was the primary reason for my attendance at Puget Sound Christian College, as it was his alma mater. I have had repeated validation of that career and education choice over the years, and I am confident that I am in the role that God had planned for me all along.
More About Me/On a Personal Note
I love spending time with my family. My wife and two children keep me busy with all of our activities, from youth group volunteering to Boy Scouts with my son, and worship team with my wife on the weekends at church. I also enjoy woodworking and building and fixing things.
