With Christ as the foundation of my practice, my hope is for my clients to discover and nurture their true selves and to leave sessions feeling empowered, loved, and hopeful.

Bothell – Mon, Wed & Fri

My Name is Jessica Berg, and I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at our Bothell location. The world we live in can be very difficult, and my hope is to offer compassion and support for people during hard times. Whether you’re dealing with painful emotions or troublesome behaviors, find yourself in a difficult transition, need help working through relationship struggles, or just need someone to talk to, I offer you a safe place where you can find rest in the love of Jesus Christ. I welcome people of all faiths, backgrounds, and troubles, with a special focus on helping women and teens who struggle with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, relationship problems, and divorce.

My Goal as a Christian Counselor

I want my clients to thrive. As your counselor, I’ll work with you on building skills that will help you be your best, so you can continue to grow on your own. My hope for my clients is for them to gain a better understanding of themselves, how they impact those around them, and how to reach all that they were created by God to be.

What I Offer in Christian Counseling

I provide my clients with a safe, welcoming environment. I know how nerve-wracking counseling can seem at first, so my first concern is helping you feel less anxious while I get to know you and your needs. Having been through my fair share of struggles, my clients have someone who genuinely understands what they are going through. I offer you a place of compassion and hope, while also encouraging you to seek honesty in all areas of your life, so you can find the tools you need for overcoming challenges that hinder your personal, relational, and spiritual growth. As a Christian counselor, I also hope to encourage my clients to express their faith as a tool for healing, while meeting them where they are on their own, personal journey with Christ.

My Approach to Christian Counseling

With faith as the foundation for my counseling approach, I believe that Christ gives us solid ground to stand on during times of trouble. As a Christian counselor, in standing on the common ground of faith and understanding, I offer a non-judgmental place for my clients to come as they are now. Together we will work towards finding your unique path in Christ, so you can live your life as it was meant to be. With a client-centered approach, I pull from various counseling methods depending on each person. You might learn relaxation techniques or be given exercises to take home with you. In the end, the goal is to help you chart your own path with the Lord, so you continue to grow beyond our time spent together.

I have personal experience with Jessica Berg. She has provided me with sound counsel in times of need. As a fellow mother and wife, I have found her advise useful and timely. No she would be a great counselor to young teens as well. – Amber Swanigan

Qualifications and Experience

I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and National Certified Counselor. In 2001, I graduated from Washington State University with a Bachelor’s in Psychology. In 2006, I obtained a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from City University of Seattle. I have over 14 years of professional experience in counseling, but have helped others work through tough issues since I was in junior high school. I’ve also been through 13 years of trainings for mental health, eating disorders, and chemical dependency issues.

My Call to Christian Counseling

When I began graduate school, I knew I’d found what I was meant to be doing with my life. My first job out of graduate school in the counseling field, was working with teens who suffered from mental illness and chemical dependency issues within the drug court system. I connected with kids and wanted to help them find their purpose, a sense of belonging, and justice for the things that they had been through. I’ve always felt drawn to helping those who struggled with issues like anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and general issues that cause people a sense of hopelessness. My desire is to help others realize they’re not alone and that God has a purpose for them, even when it seems impossible to rise above. For me, being a counselor is more than a career, it’s what I was created for.

More About Me

I have been blessed with two daughters. People know me as an honest and loyal family member and friend. I love to live life to the fullest, spending time with those I love. I also enjoy exercising, reading, writing, music, dancing, and water sports.

Women’s Counseling

As women, we have a lot of unique challenges in life. Sometimes having someone who has “been there” to talk to can be very healing. I offer help for women who struggle with a wide-range of problems. Whether dealing with loneliness, stress, parenting concerns, relationship problems, or issues related to self-image, I’m here to help you feel empowered, loved, and supported as you work towards finding your God-given strengths and purpose.

Support for Stay-At-Home and Working Mothers

As women, being a mother can be the biggest, but also most rewarding challenge of our lives. With four years’ experience as a stay-at-home mom, I offer insight and true understanding for the struggles mothers often face. Throughout the years, I’ve seen a growing need for support for mothers in a wide-variety of capacities. Whether you’re a stay-at-home or working mom (or both), I offer you a place where you can find the support you need for dealing with the many demands, emotions, and personal struggles you might face.

Counseling for Teens

I’ve helped young people find healing, hope, and self-confidence since I was a teen myself. I feel especially drawn to helping young people find their voice, move past difficult situations, and learn how to work through difficult emotions in a healthy way. I also encourage teens who struggle with issues of faith, and need someone to talk to who won’t make them feel pressured or judged. If your teen struggles with things like anxiety, depression, eating disorders, or healing after a divorce, I offer tools that will help them deal with present troubles while learning how to better deal with challenges in the future.

Anxiety and Depression

If you often feel anxious, over-stressed, or battle feelings of sadness and hopelessness, I can help you move to a place of peace and happiness. I am experienced in helping people overcome difficult emotions using proven relaxation techniques. I also welcome people of faith to join me in prayer during sessions, if the situation arises. Living with anxiety and depression can have serious effects on many areas of your life, so I encourage anyone who struggles to join me on a path of self-discovery and healing. Together we will find the tools and guidance you need for your unique situation and experiences, so that you can build the life that you desire.

Eating Disorders

If you or your teen struggle with anorexia, bulimia, or binge-eating disorder, I offer safe and lasting solutions. I understand the many emotional, psychological, and social influences that cause people to fall into these damaging behaviors. I also have faith in the healing of Christ for all areas of our life. Through faith and client-centered counseling, I offer a wide-range of tools to help people overcome these difficult challenges, so they can learn to fully love themselves, others, and God.

I help women and teens who struggle to form healthy, happy relationships. Whether you’re dealing with issues related to past relationships, or need help overcoming challenges within your marriage or family, I offer practical solutions for healing. We all have a natural need for love, affection, and acceptance. I will help you build strong, fully-connected relationships with yourself, loved ones, and with Christ.
