Qualifications & Experience

I am credentialed as a Washington State Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate and as a Mental Health Professional. I have my Masters in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology and my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Western Washington University.

Other training I have received includes:

  • Motivational Interviewing (MI)
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) training
  • Art therapy
  • Helping the Non-Compliant Child (HNC)

I have been both an intern and on staff as a clinician II, doing individual, group, family, and children’s counseling for about 2 years at a community mental health agency. Prior to becoming a certified counselor, I gained over 10 years of experience working with children in a counseling, caretaking, or educating role. Years later my heart for victims was further inspired by the volunteer work I did at a safe house where I got to know and spend time with women who had been rescued from trafficking. There I spent one-on-one time hearing their stories, attending AA meetings with them, and navigating group dynamics.

My Call to Christian Counseling

As an Air Force kid, my life was always transient, but one thing that always remained the same was my love for getting to know people and their stories. After going through a few years of my own depression and internal turmoil, and not receiving counseling, I knew I wanted to offer others what I didn’t get. I pursued Christian counseling because I believe the ministry that Christ led is meant to be an example of how we are to live out our own ministries and callings in life. With joy and humility, we are to move closer, not farther, from those who are suffering. My love for writing, relationships, and leadership have also inspired this journey.

More About Me/On a Personal Note

When I’m not counseling, I enjoy traveling, drawing, painting, creating music, photography, reading, writing, and getting outside with my friends. One day I hope to get my first dog as a pet, as I greatly value animal therapy as well.
