Qualifications and Experience

I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and National Certified Counselor. In 2001, I graduated from Washington State University with a Bachelor’s in Psychology. In 2006, I obtained a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from City University of Seattle. I have over 11 years of professional experience in counseling, but have helped others work through tough issues since I was in junior high school. I’ve also been through 10 years of trainings for mental health, eating disorders, and chemical dependency issues.

My Call to Christian Counseling

When I began graduate school, I knew I’d found what I was meant to be doing with my life. My first job out of graduate school in the counseling field, was working with teens who suffered from mental illness and chemical dependency issues within the drug court system. I connected with kids and wanted to help them find their purpose, a sense of belonging, and justice for the things that they had been through. I’ve always felt drawn to helping those who struggled with issues like anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and general issues that cause people a sense of hopelessness. My desire is to help others realize they’re not alone and that God has a purpose for them, even when it seems impossible to rise above. For me, being a counselor is more than a career, it’s what I was created for.
