Qualifications and Experience

I received my Masters in Counseling Psychology from City University of Seattle in 2006, and have been practicing therapy professionally in Seattle for nearly ten years. I spent five years as a case manager and therapist in a community mental health center, where I primarily worked with older adults and immigrants in a fast-paced, multicultural setting. For the past several years I have run my own private practice, counseling clients for a variety of issues – from depression and anxiety to trauma and abuse recovery. I am trained to use EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) therapy, and am a member of the international association, EMDRIA.

My Call to Christian Counseling

I have always been drawn to psychology and take a keen interest in learning why people do what they do. I was an accountant for thirty years, and I often found that my greatest joy was in the limited one-to-one interactions I had with my clients. Eventually I decided that I wanted to go back to school and get a degree in a field that would enable me to work more directly with people. I felt God calling me to a career in professional counseling, and I have been extremely blessed to do what I love for the past nine years.

More About Me

I have been married to my second husband for thirty-seven years together we have raised two kids in a blended family. We are now blessed with two grandsons, with whom we spend much of our time on weekends. My hobbies and interests include crocheting, reading, walking, and watching Korean dramas. I love to discover new ways to help people and am always eager to read new therapeutic studies and approaches.
